Rye Brook approves intermunicipal agreements for county and state police databases

The Village of Rye Brook Board of Trustees on Feb. 25 authorized intermunicipal agreements to permit the Rye Brook Police Department access to two county/state law enforcement systems.
The first resolution authorized entry into an IMA to access Westchester County’s RICKY repository, described in the packet as a county central computer for two‑way transmission and storage of criminal record information. The resolution notes that the RICKY system will contain arrest, booking, detention or incarceration data and related identifiers and that the agreement would run from January 2025 through July 31, 2029.
The second resolution authorized an IMA with New York State and Westchester County for access to the TRACKS system (traffic and criminal software), described as a five‑year agreement that the police department relies on for routine operations. Trustees confirmed there is no direct cost to the village for that agreement as presented.
Trustees said both systems are important resources for officers. Both agreements were approved by roll call; one roll call in the meeting recorded a ‘‘no’’ vote from one trustee on the TRACKS item. The mayor and administrator were authorized to sign documents necessary to implement the agreements, subject to counsel review where appropriate.
