Staff noted the product includes optional AI features that can be enabled or disabled depending on departmental preference. The chief explained the system is intended to cut administrative hours required for accreditation maintenance and included a clause that would allow the department to reassess usefulness after a year if it did not meet expectations.
The trustees approved the agreement unanimously: Trustee Epstein — yes; Trustee Fisher — yes; Trustee Heizer — yes; Trustee Merlino — yes; Mayor Klein — yes. Village staff said the mayor and administrator were authorized to sign the agreement subject to counsel modifications and that funds would be allocated across two budget years.
