The village plans to supply gloves, garbage bags and a chart of assignment locations. Businesses that pledge to clean in front of their storefronts will receive a Greenup Williamsville lawn sign. Event organizers said volunteers will be required to sign a release form posted to the village website before the event.
The department of public works crew has already cleaned several bioswales, the board said, and organizers asked volunteers to avoid entering the creek while cleaning. Volunteers will be offered T‑shirts screen‑printed by a volunteer’s spouse and the events will include family‑friendly activities and accommodated volunteers with limited mobility (chairs will be available). The village also said it has contacted Williamsville South High School and the school environmental club to invite student volunteers.
No registration totals were provided at the meeting; organizers encouraged residents and business owners to contact village staff or use posted online links to pledge support. The board asked that flyers and posts be updated periodically on Facebook and the village bulletin board to boost visibility.
