Administrator and legal staff told the board the change would expand the set of allowable alternatives in the village's sewer code so property owners and staff have more tools to control stormwater when a full connection to the municipal system is not feasible. The amendment was described as an administrative flexibility measure, not a change to existing water-quality standards.
The board received no public speakers on the amendment during the hearing and closed the record. The change will appear as Local Law Number 3 of 2025 in the village file and proceeds to the next step in the local-law process.
Administrators said the change addresses discrete cases where the existing code's authorized alternatives were not workable and would allow staff to authorize other control measures while ensuring appropriate stormwater management.
Trustees asked staff to circulate the proposed language and noted the village's unique hydrology, including local springs and watercourses, when considering stormwater options.
