Daniels told the panel he was not guilty of the alleged criminal activity, saying, “To my knowledge, I don't even know where that came from, but I was never charged with none of the” crimes. He also denied possessing a pistol found at his residence, saying he was already incarcerated when the weapon was discovered and that the homeowner purchased it after he left: “I wouldn't never dealt with that... she purchased it after I left because I was the only male at the house.”
On the allegation that he refused parole officers access to his phone, Daniels said the device was his girlfriend's and he did not give a passcode because he did not want to “invade my girl privacy. She had, like, a lot of naked pictures and stuff.” Daniels acknowledged he owed parole fees and said he intended to pay them in a lump sum; the committee recorded the amount owed as $2,760 under the allegations.
After discussion, Prater said he believed Daniels was guilty of the four listed infractions and moved to revoke parole. Chuck Tillis and Danny Barra concurred. The committee announced the revocation was effective immediately at 9:01 a.m.
The hearing record shows Daniels indicated some items as not guilty (the alleged arson/stalking/extortion and possession of firearms) while acknowledging guilt on the unpaid fees.
