Jamestown Shores Association reports rising membership, events and beach conservation focus

Keith Roberts, president of the Jamestown Shores Association, told the council the group has re-engaged residents after a period of declining participation and now plans roughly 10 events this year including seasonal gatherings, a Meet-the-Candidates event and a Fall Fest.
Roberts said the association’s priorities are events, conservation (including protection of designated “protected lots”), and neighborhood concerns about water supply and traffic safety. He described working with town staff—naming Ed and Ray DeFalco—to gather information about water-system capacity and to plan a conservation-oriented approach for Head's Beach.
Roberts said the association met with Police Chief Campbell, who conducted a traffic study in the area and placed speed signs; Roberts said a week-long traffic count showed several thousand vehicles and that enforcement will continue as spring brings more activity.
He invited council members and residents to association events and said membership and attendance at recent activities have grown, including a holiday potluck and the largest annual picnic in the group’s history.
