State cosmetology board declines emergency suspensions after prostitution-related citations

It's a very narrow statute, but it is triggered by law enforcement." Staff urged the board to follow the recommendation.
The board heard brief statements from representatives or owners. Adam (owner of Valley Spa) told the board the criminal case against his employee in the Valley Spa matter had been dismissed: "We went to them and they dismissed the case." Wen Zheng, identified as a representative for Best Asian Massage, said he was not actively operating the business and expressed a desire to close it. Counsel Kirk Kennedy appeared for Yang Bai and said the business had been closed by the owner and the municipal-court citation remained pending. For BlueAroma, staff reported no representative was present and that the establishment's license had already expired.
After brief discussion the board moved to follow staff recommendations in each matter and voted to decline emergency temporary suspensions for all four establishments. Motions were made consistent with staff recommendations; recorded votes were affirmative and no emergency suspensions were issued.
