Hudson officials: Sullivan Road house fire 'unusual'; state fire marshal and ATF leading probe

Hudson City Council heard an update on a fatal‑risk house fire on Sullivan Road during the April 22 meeting as the city manager and fire chief said the incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

City Manager Sheridan told council that police body‑camera footage and fire department video and photos were provided to council but cannot be released publicly because outside agencies are leading the probe. Sheridan introduced Fire Chief Barnes to review the scene and answer council questions.

Chief Barnes told the council the fire was already “very, very advanced” by the time emergency crews began arriving.
