Public works reports Buskey waterline work complete and paving to follow as asphalt plants open

The city’s Public Works director reported that Underground Utilities has remobilized to finish restoration work on Buskey Avenue, replacing sidewalk and curb and regrading boulevards, with paving scheduled once nearby asphalt plants open for the season.
Public Works staff also said Buckeye Excavating has completed the Buskey Avenue waterline project and finished the water main work on Baker Street and the Riverbend area; crews have moved to Sycamore to continue water main installation. The director described the projects as moving along “very nicely.”
Council Member Rueckle asked whether Spring Street and Fruin Street would be resurfaced when Buskey is paved. The director said Buskey will be resurfaced and Spring Street (at least up to the alley) will be resurfaced; Fruin Street is not scheduled at this time and will depend on available funding.
No formal council action was taken on these reports; they were given as department updates during the official’s report portion of the agenda.
