Council approves 2025 pavement contracts, waterline project bidding and several service agreements

The Strongsville City Council on April 7 voted to approve a set of public-works contracts and to authorize advertising for bids on a waterline replacement project. The council also confirmed a planning commission reappointment and approved a transfer of burial-right certificates for the municipal cemetery.

Key infrastructure items included a contract award for the city—s 2025 pavement reconstruction program and several service contracts and bid solicitations for pavement, striping, street sweeping and waterline work. Council members said funds are certified for these items and the law department confirmed the ordinances and resolutions were in proper legal form.

Planning, Zoning & Engineering Committee chair Mr. Spring summarized the largest item as an ordinance authorizing the mayor to execute a contract for the 2025 pavement reconstruction program. The bid selected was from Fabrizi Trucking and Paving and was described in committee as a contract "not to exceed $1,756,979." The council voted to suspend the rules and adopt the ordinance; the motion to suspend and adopt was moved by Mr. Carbone and seconded by Mr. Kaminski and the measure passed unanimously among members present.
