Resident raises flooding concern on High Street; city staff plans targeted fixes

Planning/Public Works staff member Preston explained the temporary filter bags—used to cover catch basins during construction—are intended to remain in place until grass seed achieves about 70 percent establishment. He said staff prioritized preventing flooding and authorized removal of approximately 20 filter bags, with plans to remove them before the next forecasted rain event later in the week. Preston acknowledged photos provided by council members showing standing water at a curve and near parking areas and said staff would continue to address the locations identified.
No formal council action was taken during public comment; staff said they would investigate and perform targeted removals or adjustments to reduce standing water before the next rain.
