A city finance official reported that the city advanced and then recovered several internal and interfund amounts and recorded a substantial reimbursement related to water-treatment plant improvements.
Council was told the city closed out airport-related balances from 2019–2021 and advanced $344,000 back to the general fund. The city also advanced back $87,000 from Fund 02/2002 that had been advanced previously. The official said Fund 202 appears negative on paper ($1,600) because some loaned or encumbered items will not be paid until later in the fiscal year but that the fund will be in the positive when the timing aligns.
The finance official reported the city spent about $560,000–$570,000 on water-treatment plant improvements this month; those expenses have been or will be reimbursed by the county, so the transactions show both significant expense and revenue. Staff said daily bill payments have resumed more regularly, and they are also working on records retention for stored boxes in the basement that may be eligible for destruction under the city's retention schedule.
Council members asked clarifying questions; staff said they would continue financial monitoring and provide necessary transfers at month-end.
