District selects Apogee platform for two-way family communications; committee questions multi-year pricing

Committee members asked about the contract structure and future costs. Doctor Yarbrough asked whether staff had considered a multiyear contract and what future-year costs might look like. Harmon said the district initially proposed a one-year renewable contract and that while costs could escalate over time the district would seek to maintain budget capacity.
Miss Downer and others asked whether a multiyear price could be negotiated up front to capture startup savings. Harmon said he would follow up with the vendor and review references to see whether peer school systems used multiyear deals. Staff noted startup costs were isolated in an item listed on the agenda: a startup contract with Apogee for $29,000.
Committee members asked staff to follow up on whether the vendor has a standard escalation and whether a multiyear arrangement and migration-cost reductions are possible. Harmon said he would report back.
