Council approves routine operating ordinances; several resolutions passed

At its Jan. 14 meeting the Galion City Council moved a bundle of routine operating measures and personnel resolutions through final readings or otherwise advanced them for action.
Ordinances and resolutions addressed annual operating authorizations, intergovernmental contracts, budget transfers and two mayoral board appointments. Council approved Ordinance 20-25-1 (annual blanket authorization for purchases of materials and equipment for city departments), Ordinance 20-25-2 (transfers/appropriations) and Ordinance 20-25-3 (agreement for local government services with the county health department). The council also approved Resolution 20-25-1 (reappointment of Heidi Matney to the Galion City-County Health Board) and Resolution 20-25-2 (appointment of Amy Wolf to the Galion City-County Health Board).
Several items were advanced by motions to suspend the rules and move to final reading on the same night; roll-call votes were recorded in the minutes for each of those moves. For one larger capital ordinance (Ordinance 2024-97 related to the Big 4 Depot) council did not finalize adoption and instead moved that item to third reading for additional review.
