Trustee flags deteriorating billboard near Route 14; board to notify owner

Trustee Dudek raised a safety concern at the April 15 Village of Cary Board of Trustees meeting about a billboard beside the Metra line on Route 14 that she said has been deteriorating for weeks.
“...the billboard by the metro line on 14, which was never done correctly to begin with in my opinion, is falling down. And it's been falling down for a number of weeks,” Dudek said, and urged that the owner attend to the structure.
Mayor Mark Kownick replied that the village could bring the issue to the owner’s attention. No formal enforcement action, permit number, or owner name was recorded on the transcript during the meeting, and no staff report or follow-up schedule was provided that night.
The remark appeared under future-agenda/discussion items; trustees did not vote or direct staff to open an enforcement action during the April 15 meeting.
