County announces tentative contract with Corrections Deputies union; ratification to be presented to board

County HR reported that negotiators have reached agreement with the Corrections Deputies bargaining unit and that the union membership has ratified the contract. HR said negotiations began in 2024 and continued through the fall; staff will present the final contract to the Board of County Commissioners for ratification at the business meeting.
Maria Ponti, HR Director, told commissioners: “We have reached an agreement with the Corrections Deputies Union. We have been negotiating with them since last summer… and their members have ratified the provisions of the contract and so this afternoon we'll be bringing that contract before the commissioners for your ratification.”
No terms of the contract (salary increases, effective dates or other provisions) were discussed on the record during the agenda-setting meeting; HR said the union membership ratified the contract and that the item will be placed on the business agenda for formal action.
