Consultant Matt Dixon to lead Morrow County strategic plan; public workshops, stakeholder sessions planned in May

Morrow County contracted a consultant to run a countywide strategic-planning process with public workshops in May, a commissioners' retreat in June and a written plan to follow this summer.
The Board of Commissioners confirmed the county's strategic-planning project will move forward with consultant Matt Dixon leading the process.
Dixon, a local-government consultant with several years' experience, told commissioners the project will begin with community outreach — a public survey, two public workshops (one in the south county and one in the north), and targeted stakeholder focus groups. The project advisory committee, made up of community volunteers nominated by commissioners, will help facilitate workshops, Dixon said.
County staff said the public workshops and focus groups are scheduled for May and that the countywide retreat with commissioners and department leaders will be scheduled for June (the draft dates cited during the meeting were June 9–10). The consultant will draft a plan after the retreat and return a final document later in the summer for adoption by the board.
County staff said they will promote the process with QR-code flyers and involvement from community partners to encourage broad participation. Dixon noted the plan will set a multi-year vision and identify priorities, and departments will later develop implementation steps and projects aligned to those priorities.
