Armory fire damaged roof; city says building reopened while repairs proceed

"We had a roof fire from the city armory. I think call came in at 09:57 to the fire department. They had less than a 3 minute response time, which probably saved that building," Mike, a city staff member, said during the update. He described the damage as "mostly to the roof, probably a 3 by 15 foot square along the northeast wall" and said crews were repairing roofing and decking and installing a new firewall and ceiling barriers. Mike added the cleanup was about 90% complete and that the gym had been able to reopen.
