The Morrow County Board of Commissioners voted to ratify a tentative collective-bargaining agreement reached between county management and the Morrow County General Employees, represented by AFSCME Local 2479-002.
County management said negotiations began in May 2024 and that the tentative agreement was reached in February; the union has already ratified the agreement. The packet before the board contained a redline draft, and staff said the final signed copy would be routed to the union for signature before returning to the board for the county chair’s signature.
A commissioner moved to ratify the agreement, which the board approved on a voice vote. County staff said there should be no substantive changes between the redline packet and the final signed document.
Why it matters: ratification settles the association’s contract terms and allows management and the union to complete signature and implementation steps.
Next steps: finalize the signed document and return for the chair’s signature; staff will notify affected departments and update payroll and related processes as needed.
