New jeweler opens storefront on North Fort Thomas Avenue; business council announces programming

At its most recent meeting, the Fort Thomas City Council heard from the Fort Thomas Business Council about upcoming programming and a new downtown storefront.
"Nick with Fort Thomas Business Council" introduced Kevin Anderson, who said: "I am the owner of Anderson Jewelers at 97 North Fort Thomas Avenue." Anderson described a background as a 13‑year Army veteran and a long career in jewelry manufacturing and repair; he said the storefront opened Jan. 15 and performs local repairs, restorations and some in-house fabrication.
The Business Council announced a programming and networking session scheduled for next Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., coinciding with Fort Thomas’s 158th birthday. The council also said it is working on a "bridging back businesses" initiative with Bellevue, Newport, Dayton and Covington to encourage traffic across the recently reopened bridge.
Anderson said his store has five showcases, handles local wholesale work for other jewelers and performs many repairs on-site with typical turnaround of seven to 14 days depending on capacity. The Business Council invited the public to the networking event and a ribbon-cutting had already been held.
Ending: The Business Council asked residents to stop by the event next Thursday and support downtown businesses; Anderson encouraged customers to check social media for examples of recent restorations and to visit the new store at 97 North Fort Thomas Avenue.
