City staff told the Erlanger City Council on April 1 that several bids were received for construction of a new traffic island on Shearborn Drive and recommended the low bidder, Humphrey Concrete.
“...the construction of a new island for Shearborn Drive that’ll be located right in front of the new park that is being installed there,” the presenter said, and recommended Humphrey Concrete as the low bidder at $59,003.73. The presenter said the amount is within the project budget.
Council members asked no substantive questions and no formal contract approval vote was recorded on the public transcript. The bid-opening took place on March 27 at 10 a.m., according to the staff presentation.
Why it matters: The island is sited immediately in front of a new park and is part of the city’s ongoing park and street improvements. Staff described the bid as within the available budget; the council did not record a vote on the item at the April 1 meeting.
