District commissions Hanover Research for baseline academic dashboard

The board received an update that Northville Public Schools contracted Hanover Research to produce a baseline data dashboard that will aggregate academic and outcome measures for use in planning and monitoring.
Superintendent Dr. R.J. Weber summarized the planned dashboard contents: proficiency in ELA/reading and math; fall‑to‑spring growth on local measures (NWEA MAP/I‑Ready), graduation rates and postsecondary enrollment, course failure in reading and math, advanced‑course enrollment (AP/IB), attendance and chronic absenteeism, suspension incidence, gifted and special‑education enrollment, and local benchmark assessment results.
Weber said the dashboard will be used to run a gap analysis to identify where the district could improve and to inform subsequent projects. He told the board Hanover was about three weeks away from delivering the first product that will be shared with the board for review.
The board asked about perception data (Panorama) and how the dashboard’s academic metrics would be layered with other data; Weber responded Hanover can overlay perception measures as needed.
No formal action was taken; the item was informational and the district said it will distribute the completed dashboard to the board when available.
