The Warren Town Council approved the Recreation Department’s proposed 2025 summer concert lineup and granted conceptual approval for vendors to operate limited beer gardens during the concerts, subject to liquor-licensing, insurance and police-detail requirements.
Recreation staff said the concert contracts are unchanged from prior years and can be paid from donations and grants. Council members discussed logistics for beer gardens—vendors would be responsible for insurance, a class F-1 temporary license for each event, paying for police details and complying with required tip and service rules. Council members noted a statutory limit on the number of special-event licenses and asked staff to ensure the licensing schedule would not conflict with other town events.
The council also approved awarding the Warren Community Garden well contract to WellWorks (drilling) for up to $18,931, to be covered by a DEM grant. Staff said a per-foot contingency exists and the final price depends on well depth; staff will finalize contract documents and return signed copies with corrected signatory names.
Council approved a small set of budget adjustments to cover summer-staff pay through July 1 (transfers among beach manager, parking assistant and rec supervisor salary accounts) and approved a modest lifeguard salary overrun transfer. These transfers are intended to cover existing payroll commitments through the fiscal-year crossover.
