Town staff reported that five contractors responded to the request for qualifications. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for April 14 and formal bids are due May 5. The owner’s project manager and school building committee are proceeding to prepare bid documents and selections.
Council members asked about funding timing. The manager and staff explained that bonds have been extended in anticipation of municipal audits for Warren and Bristol; once audits are complete, bond counsel will finalize refinancing and draw funds. The town manager said the construction phase is starting and council will be kept informed as spending accelerates.
No contract awards were made at Tuesday’s meeting; the council asked staff to continue reporting on the schedule and to provide updates as construction milestones approach.
