SEA financial report: $92,250 available after $57,750 in awards written for 2025

SEA staff presented the committee’s financial summary for the year to date and reported $57,750 in award checks written so far in 2025 and an available Sports and Events Authority balance of $92,250.
Staff reported collections details: recent collections included $25,402 (recorded in December 2024), and $13,607.50 submitted in March for February. Year-to-date collections totaled $49,097, which staff said equated to 24,549 room nights. Staff compared year-to-date room nights to prior years: up 1.9% versus 2024 (an increase of 477 room nights) and up 4.2% versus 2023 (1,025 room nights). Other year-to-year comparisons were provided for 2022, 2021 and 2019.
The committee was told SEA has awarded funding to 22 organizations or events so far in 2025. Staff also summarized evaluation-form returns from awarded events, including attendance estimates, participant counts and event profit/loss reports provided by organizers.
The financial report was approved on a voice vote (motion by Dave; second by Emily). Committee members asked clarifying questions about awards and evaluation forms during the discussion.
Staff will continue to monitor collections and provide routine financial updates at future meetings.
