Staff said one candidate was disqualified because of a three‑year residency requirement; the remaining applicant for one seat is Linda Clark.
Councilors discussed whether the council’s role would be to ratify or to vote to approve appointments. Staff advised that although some appointments are made by other officials under the town charter, the council must vote to approve (rather than merely ratify) certain appointments when they come before the council. No formal vote to approve any named appointment was recorded in the work session transcript.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn; the work session recorded a motion, a second and a voice vote in favor of adjournment.
