A representative of the Brookings Hospital Board reported to the council on a December meeting that highlighted modest organizational updates including increased employee satisfaction, limited use of artificial intelligence, and changes in insurance participation.
The board review described current uses of artificial intelligence primarily for physician note-taking. A pulse survey of hospital employees showed an increase in overall employee satisfaction, the speaker said. The hospital also reported an increase in Medicare Advantage participation among patients compared with last year. The board elected new officers, updated committee assignments and recognized outgoing board members Jim Morgan and a member listed as Peterson, thanking them for their service.
No council action was required on the hospital report, which was presented for information.
