Marshall Stark asks Pulaski County to consider funding for locally served residents

Jesse Gilley, vice president of mission advancement for Marshall Stark Development Center, told the joint meeting that Marshall Stark provides services to people with developmental and physical disabilities and operates Head Start locations. He said five Pulaski County residents currently use Marshall Stark services, including day programming and residential supports delivered in county.
Gilley outlined Marshall Stark’s history and services, noting the agency serves more than 200 adults daily across a multijurisdictional area and that much of the work is contingent on Medicaid funding and county contributions. He asked the commissioners and council to consider supporting Marshall Stark in the county’s next fiscal budget, noting that county funding typically “averages about $1,200 a person” per year to provide a full year of care covering daily activities, transportation and community integration.
Gilley clarified he was not asking for an immediate decision at the meeting but requested that elected officials consider the need when preparing next year’s budget. No formal motion or commitment was made at the meeting.
