The Foster Town Council on Feb. 13 approved the Recreation Department’s 2025 event calendar and appointed a new member to its Recreation Committee.
The council voted to approve the slate of dates provided by the Recreation Director: Easter at the fairgrounds on April 12 (rain date April 19); Memorial Day parade on May 26; food-truck nights at the fairgrounds on June 25 and Aug. 20 (rain dates July 9 and Aug. 27); a yard sale at the fairgrounds on Sept. 20 (rain date Sept. 21); Trunk-or-Treat at the fairgrounds on Oct. 26 (rain date Oct. 27); Veterans Day observance on Nov. 11 at Phillips Field; and Bridal Night at the fairgrounds on Dec. 5.
Councilors noted that food-truck events remain subject to licensing and permitting by the Town Clerk’s office and that dates were cleared with the town clerk. The motion to approve the full calendar was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The council also appointed Denise DeFranco to the Recreation Committee for a term ending Dec. 2026. That motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
In related business, the Foster Old Home Days Committee requested use of the fairgrounds and townhouse grounds for Old Home Days the last weekend in July (setup July 21–25); the council approved those requests by voice vote.
