The mayor "urged all citizens in Junction City to engage in activities whose purpose is to strengthen families and communities to provide the optimal environment for healthy child development," the text of the proclamation says.
The proclamation will be entered into the city record; council did not take separate action beyond acknowledging the proclamation.
Several residents attending the meeting expressed appreciation. The proclamation text and the mayor’s signature were included in the meeting packet.
