Planning commission recommends 2025 Transportation System Plan and North Sweet Home Area Plan to city council

The Sweet Home Planning Commission voted unanimously Thursday to recommend the draft 2025 Transportation System Plan and the draft 2025 North Sweet Home Area Plan to the Sweet Home City Council for final action on April 22.

The recommendation implements a 20-year update to the city's transportation planning guidance and a companion area plan for land-use direction north of the railroad tracks. Angela (planning staff member) said the draft TSP replaces the city's 2005 plan, was prepared with community input and stakeholder collaboration, and is intended to be adopted as an amendment and subelement of the comprehensive plan.

The plans matter because the TSP is required under Oregon land-use rules and establishes the city's project lists, system standards and functional classification for roads that support future grant eligibility and development review.
