County, EDC exploring HUD Economic Development grant to acquire Mason Lake parcel

She stressed the application turnaround is very short — the EDC asked staff to help with application materials by the end of the week — and emphasized that submitting a competitive application now preserves the county’s opportunity for consideration even if the feasibility study is not yet final.
Commissioners expressed general support for pursuing funding and asked staff to place an item on a forthcoming agenda so the commission could consider any formal county participation or required match. Administrator Vanessa said she and the EDC will prepare application materials and requested the commission’s endorsement if the county is asked to provide a formal local support letter or match.
