Morgan Township Fire Chief reports higher call volume in March, updates staff on events and training

During his report, the chief said, "We had 53 for the month of March, for a total of a 43 so far this year," and noted the department made one transport to Riley and one to Ross Township. Chief Griffith reported an average turnout time of "a minute and 51 seconds," and said the department performed nine business inspections in March and recorded 116 hours of training for members.
The chief also reminded trustees of an Easter egg hunt scheduled for the coming Saturday at the community park, with a 10 a.m. start and a planned 10:30 appearance by the Easter Bunny. He asked for volunteer help beginning at 9:30 a.m. to set up eggs, photo areas and logistics; trustees and staff discussed assignments for stuffing eggs and setup. Chief Griffith said the department would ramp event planning up year-to-year after this initial community event.
Trustees acknowledged the department’s staffing and response metrics and asked how many volunteers would be needed for the event; the chief replied that each crew had an assignment to stuff eggs and arrive at 9:30 for setup. The department’s reported turnout time and transports were given as operational statistics during the public part of the meeting.
