Community concern grows as County hosts public poll on Cliffview Assisted Living

Sheena Darling, executive with the Grand County Housing Authority, described a county-hosted online poll launched in mid-February to capture community views about Cliffview. Darling said the poll was accessible on multiple device platforms and had gathered roughly 380–390 responses and about 20 phone inquiries; staff have followed up by email on frequently asked questions. Commissioners discussed the poll’s length and reach and agreed it should remain open through March to allow more input, with a planned social-media push and a newsletter link to reach additional residents in the Kremmling area.
Darling and other staff emphasized the county is using the poll to collect feedback and educate the public, and that no final decisions on Cliffview have been made. Commissioners asked staff to notify the public before closing the poll so anyone who wants to participate has notice.
The topic also drew related remarks from multiple public commenters who urged prioritizing Cliffview within broader housing and subsidy discussions. Several speakers argued for directing limited county housing or community housing funds toward Cliffview residents rather than new workforce housing, saying residents of assisted living have already long contributed to the community.
Next steps identified at the meeting include leaving the poll open through March, circulating the link in the Kremmling-area newsletter, compiling poll results for a future meeting, and continuing direct outreach to residents and stakeholders.
