Commissioners plan to continue PRPA 1041 item to April 21; public comment paused for today

County planning staff said the Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) 1041 permit item will be continued to April 21; staff will provide information on the continued hearing on the record at the 3:00 hearing. No final decision on the permit was made at the March 24 work session.
Jenny Axmaker, planning manager, told commissioners that the Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) 1041 permit item that has been continued from March 10 is expected to be continued again to April 21 and that a press release clarified the county would not take public comment or a decision on that item at today’s meeting.
Frank Hague of the County Attorney’s Office said the county will provide additional information about the continued hearing at the 3:00 hearing so that it will be on the record with all three commissioners present. Axmaker noted the 3:00 hearing contains three consent items that county staff do not anticipate being pulled; she also said the evening hearing will include the Halligan 10401 permit and that updated public comments have been distributed to commissioners.
No public comment or formal action on the PRPA 1041 permit occurred at the work session; county attorneys and planning staff said a motion to continue will be made at the 3:00 hearing and that the record will reflect the continuation to April 21.
