Commissioners approve landfill grants, hangar lease, sheriff training and other routine contracts

The Grand County Board of County Commissioners on April 1 approved a set of routine administrative items including two landfill reimbursement grants from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, a commercial hangar ground lease at Kremmling Airport, a 60‑month copier lease for the sheriff's office, and an out‑of‑state travel request for Sheriff Brett Schrolein.

The board voted to authorize the chair to sign two CDPHE reimbursement grants covering groundwater sampling and analysis for the county landfills: Granby for $22,345.65 and Kremmling for $5,422.25. Road and Bridge staff told the board both grants are reimbursement agreements for the fiscal year 2024–25 work; a larger application for fiscal year 2025–26 was described as substantially larger but not finalized at the meeting.

The board also approved a commercial hangar ground lease at Kremmling Airport between Grand County and OKC Investments LLC and authorized the chair to sign the lease documents. County airports staff explained the lease applies to privately owned hangars and carries a 5¢ per square‑foot commercial fee applied to commercial hangars.
