LAE accepts $30,000 donation from Schusterman Foundation to support district literacy work

Perry said the foundation awarded $30,000 "without any restrictions. No need for follow‑up. No need for reporting. So it's truly a gift," and that the funds would be used by the curriculum and instruction department to follow up on recommendations from the visit.
The board moved, seconded and approved acceptance of the donation by roll call. The clerk recorded affirmative votes and Chair Patricia Mariano announced the motion passed.
