The Board of Aldermen legislation rules committee for the City of St. Louis on April 14 approved meeting minutes from Feb. 6, 2025, and adopted the credentials of newly elected members by roll call, the committee chair said.
The action finalizes the committee’s review of credentials ahead of the newly elected members’ swearing-in, which the chair said is scheduled for the next day. Committee members recorded no written testimony and no public comments were received during the meeting.
Chair Volmer said a quorum was present and asked for approval of the Feb. 6 minutes; a motion and second were made and a roll call produced four "aye" votes, after which the minutes were approved. The committee then reviewed credentials for newly elected members, including a review of documents presented for Alderman Schweitzer. Chair Volmer said Schweitzer’s credentials "are here" and that they "seem to be in order," while making an offhand remark about campaign contributions that the committee did not pursue further.
A motion to adopt the credentials of the newly elected members was moved and seconded and passed on roll call with five aye votes, the chair said. The committee had no written testimony, and staff reported there were no portal public comments. The chair closed the meeting after the credential vote and entertained a motion to adjourn.
The meeting was a brief, procedural session limited to committee housekeeping: approval of minutes, verification of credentials for newly elected aldermen and adjournment. The chair noted the swearing-in was scheduled for the following day.
