Board welcomes new administrators: assistant superintendents and principal named

The board heard introductions and brief remarks from district administrators and newly appointed principals.
Amanda Thompson introduced Matt Buckler as area assistant superintendent, effective July 1, 2025. Thompson summarized Buckler’s education and experience, including a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, a master’s and principal license from the University of Denver, and prior roles as principal at Erie High School and Longs Peak Middle School. Buckler addressed the board and said he is honored to serve in the role and thanked mentors and colleagues.
The board also introduced Chase McBride as assistant superintendent of athletics, physical education, activities and performing arts, beginning July 1. McBride described his background in district athletics leadership and thanked colleagues; he said the district’s responsiveness and community orientation have supported his work.
Finally, Amanda Thompson introduced Chris Allen as principal of Mead Middle School, starting next school year. Thompson noted Allen’s Colorado State University degrees and 12 years as assistant principal at Mead Middle School. Allen thanked the board and said he looks forward to continuing the school’s traditions.
All introductions were acknowledged by board members; there was no formal vote recorded for these personnel introductions at this meeting.
