Tangipahoa Parish Council adopts ordinances on solid waste, fire district annexation and development rules; approves variance, donations and appointments

Tangipahoa Parish Council adopted multiple ordinances and resolutions, approved a variance and scheduled hearings during its March 24 meeting.

The council unanimously adopted Ordinance 25-04 to amend Chapter 38 (Solid Waste) to add language stating that all persons shall dispose of solid waste at parish-owned or council-approved facilities; Ordinance 25-05 to adjust fire protection district boundaries to annex part of Roseland and add representation on that district board; and Ordinance 25-06 to clarify that a jurisdictional determination is required for development sites over 2 acres but not for sites under 2 acres. Each of those ordinances passed on recorded roll calls 10-0.

The council approved a variance (introduction as Ordinance 25-08) to allow placement of two dwelling units (one manufactured home plus one single-family residence) on a single parcel (assessment number 6555168) in District 4 after debate.
