The Chaffee County Airport Board approved minutes from the Feb. 26 meeting and later adjourned, after hearing the manager’s report on routine maintenance and logistics for the upcoming air show.
During the meeting, a board member moved to approve the Feb. 26 minutes; Tara Miller moved the motion and a board member identified as Barbara seconded. The board voted in favor; exact vote tallies were not specified in the meeting.
In the manager’s report, staff said the airport had plowed snow only three times this winter, which freed staff time to complete fence repairs and equipment maintenance. The airport completed a full round of equipment maintenance, including oil changes, and staff said they are starting landscaping around the terminal.
Staff also noted that PJ Helicopters is on site to work on power-line work for Xcel Energy, which may generate helicopter noise. The manager said the air show discussion is handled separately after regular meeting business to avoid recording lengthy planning remarks; staff also advised that the air show used a different Zoom stream than the regular meeting and that participants should sign into the air-show link.
At the end of the meeting the board moved to adjourn; the motion passed and the meeting closed. No additional formal actions or votes were taken at the meeting.
