Lorain County commissioners approve Oberlin annexation; council to act after 60-day period

After that 60‑day period elapses, council will have an ordinance on the agenda at the next regular meeting to accept the annexation. Clark noted the city charter bars passing such an ordinance on emergency measure; however, council may waive the three‑reading rule, in which case the ordinance would take effect 30 days after passage.
Clark said he will provide a map of the parcels associated with the annexation at a future meeting so council members can see the locations rather than only a parcel list. No vote occurred on the matter at this meeting; the item was reported as a status update and next steps were outlined for council action after the statutorily required waiting period.
