The Fairbanks Solar power purchase agreement was "fully executed and signed as of February 28," Rami said, and installation is expected to begin soon.
The committee also discussed electric-vehicle projects. Rami reported a Green Communities grant award of $30,000 intended for two vehicles at $15,000 apiece; the committee discussed which town departments will receive the EVs (the DPW and conservation committee, or police and conservation, details varied in the update and were not finalized in the meeting). Rami said hardware for charging stations has been procured and replacement hardware was completed for Fairbanks, the police station and DPW, while the library charging installation has not yet begun and remains "up in the air." A committee member confirmed that installation contracts and procurement have been handled through Guardian under the state's bid list, with Sandra leading the RFP process.
No formal votes were taken. Committee members requested clearer timelines and departmental assignments for the EV vehicles and confirmation of Eversource's interconnection schedule.
