Applicant Bobiana Neubert Langille presented a photo and site sketch showing a proposed coop and a 10-by-6-foot run to be located near the rear corner of the lot. She told the board she had discussed the plan with the closest neighbor, who reportedly had no objection, and that the coop would be enclosed; the animal waste would be placed in a compost bin for on-site use.
Board members confirmed the coop and run are under the threshold that requires a building permit (the proposed structure was described as 200 square feet or less) and verified there would be no roosters. The board discussed setbacks, board-of-health standards and ongoing maintenance; the applicant said the compost would be used on her property and that plantings and fencing already onsite will screen the coop.
After discussing an appropriate review period, the board approved the permit with a one-year term and recorded findings that the use is in harmony with the bylaw and unlikely to create nuisances if operated as described. The applicant may return to renew after one year.
