The Select Board voted April 1 to appoint Jane Kelty to the Council on Aging for a term beginning June 1, 2025 and ending May 31, 2028.
Kelty, who told the board she has lived in Sudbury more than 36 years and is recently retired from a nursing career that included work at Boston Medical Center, said she began volunteering at the senior center and would like to contribute through board service. The Select Board discussed aligning the start date with other committee cycles so her appointment conforms to the council’s bylaws and department schedules.
Select Board Member Charlie moved to appoint Jane Kelty for a term starting June 1, 2025; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll‑call vote. Members welcomed Kelty’s volunteer experience and health‑care background as assets to the Council on Aging.
The appointment fills a vacancy; Kelty will be able to attend council meetings immediately and will be a voting member as of her June 1 start date.
