The Sudbury Select Board finalized the 2025 Annual Town Meeting warrant on April 1 and approved an expanded consent calendar of routine matters ahead of the warrant printing deadline.
Town Manager Andy Sheehan told the board the warrant must be delivered to residents by April 28. The board reviewed outstanding articles and took positions on several items. Notable decisions included: supporting the planning board ADU article (see separate story), approving transfers to capital stabilization (article 13) and approving creation of pension stabilization and accrued‑leave stabilization funds (articles 15 and 16). The board also voted to grant permission to the Sudbury Housing Trust to perform due diligence at 77 Hudson Road (see separate story).
On the consent calendar the board approved a cluster of routine votes, including local license hour changes and appointment confirmations. The board voted unanimously to finalize and sign the warrant subject to final, ministerial edits by town counsel and staff.
Why it matters: finalizing the warrant allows the town clerk to print and mail warrant books and begins the formal notice period for town meeting. Several financial and policy items on the warrant could have multi‑year implications depending on Town Meeting action.
The board also adjusted wording for the Atkinson Pool article to leave the requested appropriation as a sum to be determined after the town receives contractor bids. Staff said bids will arrive April 16 and that the board will reassess before Town Meeting.
