Council adds two resolutions for first reading: AT&T tariff challenge and America250 Ohio support

The Belpre City Council on Jan. 13 added two resolutions to the agenda and completed first readings: one to support the Ohio Municipal League’s challenge to AT&T’s tariff filing at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, and one to join America250 Ohio’s statewide 250th-anniversary activities.
Utilities Committee member and Councilmember Ambrosi introduced a resolution supporting the Ohio Municipal League’s challenge to AT&T’s tariff application at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. The council recorded a roll-call vote on first reading (aye votes recorded by Mister Ambrosi, Missus Dennis, Mister Ferguson, Miss Riffle and Mister Seebaugh). Ambrosi later asked to lay the resolution over until the special meeting on Wednesday for further consideration.
Councilmember Seebaugh introduced a resolution to support America250 Ohio (the state-level program marking the United States’ 250th anniversary), which likewise received a first-reading roll-call vote (ayes recorded by the same members). Council scheduled a special meeting Thursday at 5:00 p.m. to continue consideration of these two items.
