Clyde City Council on March 18 adopted Resolution 2025-27 authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement with Coleman Corporation to purchase materials for phase 2 of the West Maple Street waterline improvement project for $50,151.77.
The resolution appropriates the purchase price from the Environmental Services Fund and authorizes the city manager to execute change orders or additional work orders at agreed-upon pricing. The motion was moved by Councilwoman Meek and seconded by Vice Mayor Scott Black; the roll call vote was 5-0 in favor.
City staff explained the contract covers materials for the stretch from Spring Street to Mulberry Street and will replace an old 4‑inch iron main with an 8‑inch PVC main tied into a 12‑inch AC line. Staff said the project will provide new water services to curb stop valves at residences and allow installation of a new fire hydrant on the block where none existed before, and that quotes were solicited with the recommendation to purchase materials from Coleman Corporation.
