Council approved a request to hold the April 26 parade along the route used last year, with the line-up at the school and a path that turns left on Westbrook, right on Arlington and right on Upper Lewisburg into the park.
Anne presented the request, saying the department preferred the revised route used last year because it avoided construction on Wolf Creek, reduced labor intensity, improved crowd access and worked well when the high school band participated. "Last year we lined up at the school and then turn left on Westbrook, right on Arlington, and right on Upper Lewisburg and into the park," Anne said. Council noted the band may walk or ride but that walking could slow the procession.
A motion to approve the parade route passed on unanimous voice vote. Council also noted the parade's timing overlaps prom and opening-day events; organizers said they had the band lined up and would finalize whether it walked or rode.
