Council approves City Hall site-closure scope and clears consent agenda; $19,530 cap approved for site work

At its March 12 meeting the Orting City Council approved AB2519, described on the agenda as the PBS engineering contract for City Hall site closure. Council Member Gunther moved to approve the site-closure scope and budget with an amount not to exceed $19,530 from the 2025 approved budget and to direct staff to send a letter to the contractor prohibiting use of the city's logo and name in marketing materials. Council Member Hogan seconded the motion; the council voted 7-0 to approve it.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the consent agenda, which included a claims voucher list dated March 12, 2025 (vouchers 56593–57045) totaling $220,993.22 and payroll and electric deposit transmissions totaling $270,571.69 for the period covering Feb. 16–28, 2025. Council Member Hogan moved and Council Member Holland seconded the consent-agenda motion; the council approved it 7-0.
During discussion on AB2519 council members offered no substantive amendments; the motion carried without recorded opposition. The agenda item was noted as coming from the CGA committee and the approved spending will be charged to the 2025 approved budget.
No executive session was held at the meeting and the council adjourned after concluding business.
